He even sarcastically calls his leader once Sir Military Commander, in which he obviously just flies away in arrogance after. His main trait of personality other than being a warlord though is his sarcastic and overly sadistic humor, as he jokes about Samus's mother being dead in a very casual manner and toys with Samus at times before trying to kill her. Despite this, he is shown to be very intelligent as well, as seen in The Battle of Norion, he makes sure that even if he dies, Samus will also die. This most likely is because his love for war is only because of the feeling for murder and death of people. Considering he is the warlord that he is, he follows his leader very unwillingly. He then goes about to kill a young girl's mother, which just so happens to be Samus, who tries to befriend him despite his ruthless actions only for him to simply laugh at the request and attack her. His bloodthirst is further demonstrated during his attack on the peaceful planet known as K2-L, where he leads a mass slaughter on its inhabitants. Ridley is shown to be an intelligent yet bloodthirsty creature that relishes in the chaos and destruction he spreads. Samus' deep hatred of Ridley is as strong as his hatred against her endless attempts to thwart his nefarious plans against civilization in the galaxy. He is a large, dragon-like alien and one of the leaders of the Space Pirates, as well as Samus Aran's arch-nemesis, having murdered her parents when she was just a toddler. He made his debut appearance in the very first game of the franchise and returned in almost every other entry. He serves as the secondary antagonist of the original game, Metroid: Zero Mission, the prequel manga, Super Metroid, and the Metroid Prime trilogy, and a major antagonist in Metroid Fusion and Metroid: Samus Returns. Geoform 187, better known as Ridley as well as the Cunning God of Death, is the main antagonist of the Metroid franchise.
